Guess what? WTEN is reporting that the Albany Police are still searching for the men who ran over a 17-year-old teen with a stolen Lexus. Police confirmed it happened at 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and Ontario Street.
According to officers, Mikal Smith, 17, was trying to leave the scene when the three unidentified men in the 1995 luxury sedan pursued him and hit his bicycle, knocking him the ground.
The car than drove up on the sidewalk, hit a sign, and sheared off a tree and a parking meter before crashing into a wrought-iron fence next to the Central Veterinary Hospital on the southeast side of Central, police said.
All three occupants then jumped out of the car, which had been reported stolen in Troy, and ran off on foot.
Thankfully, Smith only suffered minor injuries. Let’s hope these individuals are caught soon. We will be reporting on this as soon as we hear more. Thanks!
